Elecate includes several password-protected functions that provide additional security for sensitive actions. These passwords help control access to employee data changes, payroll-related functions, payment processing, credit card information, pricing adjustments, and discounts.
Administrators can configure these passwords through Settings > Legacy Settings to ensure that only authorized personnel can perform specific actions within the system. The Rename Password is one example of these security controls.
The following security password fields may be configured:
1. Name Change Password
Controls authorization for changing a staff member's first name or last name.
Use Case: Prevent unauthorized modifications to employee records.
2. Staff Password
Controls access to staff-related management functions.
Use Case: Restrict sensitive employee maintenance activities to authorized users.
3. Time Clock Password
Controls access to time clock-related actions and adjustments.
Use Case: Prevent unauthorized edits to employee timekeeping records.
4. Credit Card Password
Controls access to credit card information and credit card-related processing functions.
Use Case: Protect sensitive payment card information and payment transactions.
5. Payments Password
Controls authorization for payment-related activities.
Use Case: Ensure only approved users can process or manage customer payments.
6. Price Adjustment / Discount Password
Controls the ability to enter pricing adjustments or apply discounts.
Use Case: Prevent unauthorized price changes that could impact revenue and profitability.
How to Update these Passwords?
- Go to Settings > Legacy Settings
- Change the Rename Password on the "Name Change Password" field
- Save your changes.
