[General Setup](https://faq.elecate.com/faq/general-setup?hsLang=en) # Create and Edit Mail Types   Mail Types are user-defined mailing list categories used within the **Marketing Info** functionality in Elecate. They help organizations classify contacts for marketing communications, customer outreach, promotions, and reporting. Properly configured Mail Types make it easier to segment audiences, manage mailing lists, and maintain organized marketing data. The Mail Types screen allows users to: - Create new mail types - Edit existing mail types - Activate or deactivate mail types - Delete mail types (with proper permissions) #### Phase 1: Marketing Strategy Planning: Identify how contacts should be grouped for communications. Examples: - Corporate Clients - Wedding Prospects - Event Planners - VIP Customers - Newsletter Subscribers #### Phase 2: Create Mail Types: 1. Navigate to the Mail Types screen. 2. Create the required mail categories. 3. Mark active types for immediate use. 4. Save changes. Go to: ***General Setup \> Marketing \> Create and Edit Mail Types*** 2. Click on ***“New Entry”*** 3. Type the name 4. Select if you want the mail type to be active 5. Go to: ***General Setup \> Marketing \> Create and Edit Mail Types*** 2. Search for the name of the mail type you want to edit. 3. Click on the pencil icon. 4. Here you can edit the name or change the status (active/inactive). 5. Go to: ***General Setup \> Marketing \> Create and Edit Mail Types*** 2. Search for the name of the mail type you want to delete. 3. Click on the pencil icon. 4. Click on the dropdown from the “Save” button 5.
