Discount Reasons

Discount Reasons define the standardized justifications available when applying a discount to a customer's proposal, order, or invoice in Elecate. Each entry configured here becomes a selectable reason that your team must provide when issuing a discount — creating an auditable record of why pricing was reduced.

By maintaining a defined Discount Reasons list, your company can:

• Enforce accountability when discounts are applied — every discount requires a documented reason
• Track discount patterns across customers, events, and salespeople
• Generate reports on discount frequency and value by reason type
• Reduce ad-hoc or undocumented discounting behavior
• Support financial reviews and audits with a clear discount trail
  
  

How to create or edit the discount reasons:

1. At the top of the screen, on the right side click on the Gear Icon

2. Select Application Codes

3. In the following window, you´ll see more than one Code Type, so a filter can be used to see only the Discount Reasons, you can edit the existing information or create a new record by clicking on New Entry:

4. If you need to create a new record, click on New Entry, in the Code field you need to enter the name of discount (ex. Charity, Family, Non-Profit), for the Code Type click on the drop-down menu and make sure the Is Active toggle is ON, Save the changes
